Privacy Policy
MidRound · Last updated 13 September 2026
MidRound reports what has been published about upcoming UFC fighters, and what history did in comparable situations. This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and what you can ask us to do about it.
The short version: the app works without an account, what you read is never connected to your account, usage is measured under a random identifier the app makes on your phone and you can reset, and the free tier shows one non-personalised advertisement banner.
Who is responsible
MidRound is operated by Ben Moore, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR. Contact: support@midround.party.
What the app collects
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous usage events | Always | To see which screens are used and whether people come back, so the app can be improved |
| A random analytics identifier | Always | To count how many devices come back, without knowing whose they are |
| Advertising identifiers seen by Google | Free tier only | To serve and count one non-personalised banner |
| A notification token | Only if you turn alerts on | So Apple can deliver a notification to your device |
| Email address and display name | Only if you create an account | To sign you in and hold your subscription |
| Subscription status | Only if you subscribe | To know whether to unlock paid content |
Usage events
The app records which screens are opened, how far they are read, and which controls are used. Each event carries a random identifier that the app generates on your phone the first time it runs. It is not your Apple ID, not Apple's advertising identifier, not your account, and it is shared with no other app or company. It is reset when you delete your account, when you tap Clear downloaded data under Profile, or when you remove the app.
An event records the event name, the card or bout it relates to, a number such as a scroll position or a count, the app build, whether the app was in its free or Pro state, and whether a reader was signed in. It never records your email, your name or your account id, and we do not connect the identifier to your account. If you search for a fighter, the name you searched for is recorded, because it tells us who readers look for that the app does not cover; nothing about you is attached to it.
These events are processed for us by PostHog on servers in the European Union. Your IP address is discarded when an event is received, and no location is derived from it. There are no session recordings, no screenshots and no record of keystrokes.
Notifications
If you turn alerts on, Apple issues a token that identifies your device to Apple's push service, and we store it so we can send you a notification. We store the token, which alert types you chose, and when it was last seen.
We deliberately do not connect this token to your usage events, and there is no record of which notifications an individual device received. Turning every alert off removes the token from our system.
Accounts
An account is only needed for a subscription. Reading the app does not require one. If you create an account we hold your email address, an optional display name, and the state of your subscription.
We do not connect your account to your usage events. What you read is not recorded against your identity, and we have no way to reconstruct it.
Payments
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple. We never see your card details, your billing address, or your Apple ID. We receive only the state of the subscription: which plan, whether it is active, and when it expires.
What stays on your phone
Some things never leave your device at all: the fighters you follow, your alert preferences, which discoveries you have already seen, your activity counts, and the cached copy of the content you have downloaded. Clearing the app's data removes all of it.
What we do not do
- No personalised advertising. The free tier shows one banner from Google AdMob, non-personalised, and subscribers see none.
- No analytics beyond one processor, PostHog, in the EU, under a random identifier. No session recordings, screenshots or keystrokes.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No profile connected to a person. Events are held against a random identifier, never a name, email or account.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Supabase — hosting, database and sign-in. Data is stored in the EU (Ireland).
- Apple — subscription payments and notification delivery.
- RevenueCat — validates purchase receipts with Apple and tells us whether a subscription is active.
- PostHog — product analytics. Usage events are stored in the EU (PostHog Cloud EU, Frankfurt) under the random identifier described above.
- Google AdMob — serves the one non-personalised banner shown to readers who are not subscribed.
The research behind the app is produced separately, from publicly published news articles and fight records. That process does not use your data, and no information about you is sent to it.
Legal basis
- Performance of a contract — your account and subscription. Without these we cannot provide what you have paid for.
- Legitimate interests — anonymous usage events, to understand which parts of the app are used and whether people come back, and the non-personalised banner that funds the free tier. The events carry a random identifier that neither we nor PostHog can trace to you.
- Consent — notifications. You turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
How long it is kept
- Usage events: held by PostHog for up to one year, then deleted. Resetting the identifier in the app (Clear downloaded data, or deleting your account) severs everything already recorded from your device.
- Notification tokens: until you turn alerts off, or Apple reports the token as dead.
- Account and subscription records: until you delete your account.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you may ask for a copy of your personal data, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be erased, object to processing, or ask for it to be provided in a portable form.
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your email, display name and subscription record. A subscription is billed by Apple and must be cancelled separately in iOS Settings.
For anything else, write to support@midround.party. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
MidRound is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how your data is handled we will say so in the app.
